Hungry Frog Math Counting teaches basic counting skills to children ages 3 and up (enumeration of objects). In this game, children count spots on bugs - matching them to the corresponding numerals on frogs.

The game automatically tracks the skill level of each individual child (based upon the name they enter at the start of the game) and adjusts game difficulty accordingly so the game is never too hard or too easy.

When a child clicks on a frog to select it (making it display the flashing "Hungry"), the game speaks the number to reinforce learning. You can easily add your own spoken sounds to replace those on the CD if you would like. This feature lets your child hear your voice, or even his or her own voice, speaking during the game. Math Factor Hopper Game

This is a screen shot showing the game in play in Level 2. Your goal in the game is to make the sum of all the numbers on the board as small as possible, and you do this by "factor hopping" one frog over another. The hopping frog hops over a factor of itself, the factor is removed, and the result is multiplied into the destination frog. You want to get the smallest sum in the fewest hops! Your hops are tallied to the right of the board (hopping frogs keep count of your "hop count"). You can replay a game level to try to better your score, or you can just move up a level as you complete each game board.

When you go up a level the game board gets bigger and the factors get more complex.

Math I teaches basic counting skills to children ages 3 and up (enumeration of objects). The game is designed to be played before Math II. "Count-along" help can be turned on or off as a learning aid. The game may be configured with unusually large bug sizes (large graphic objects) and slow game speeds. When set up in this manner the game has been used to teach disabled youngsters in addition to pre-schoolers whose mouse skills may be limited.

Math II is designed to be played after Math I. Math II teaches the sequence of numbers on the integer and whole number number lines. Optional help screens zoom in on the number lines near regions of interest with re-enforcing audio help sequences. Children count up or down over a wide range of numbers as the game continually pushes their abilities to new levels.

You use the EQUATION GENERATOR to create unlimited arithmetic problems. You can practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and even absolute value. You set equations to yield both positive and negative results. You can choose 2 term or 3 term equations (operator precedence). You pick what numbers to use in your equations, so you practice only problems you want. If you feel equations are too simple or too complex, you merely change settings accordingly. With a few mouse clicks you can set the game to teach multiplication tables or you can just as easily focus on the most basic principles of addition or subtraction (e.g. counting up or down by ones). You can easily create complex equations too. Term values can range from 0 to 99 in up to three terms with mixed operators. Going far beyond "multiple choice", the equation generator creates many equations evaluating to the same result (e.g. 12-4, 2x4, 32-3x8). This unique Hungry Frog disjoint set matching lets each of many "frogs" simultaneously match several "bugs" in the game scenario.

The program, available for Windows or Macintosh, tracks your performance of your student and dynamically adjusts game settings to match, but you can always manually set difficulty, speed and size options. You can even save and then restore at any time to create a set of your own custom saved games - great for homeschool. Every software feature is kid tested and proven by children in schools.
