Supported Operating Systems:

Windows 2000 Service Pack 3; Windows 98; Windows 98 Second Edition; Windows ME; Windows Server 2003; Windows XP Service Pack 2; Windows Vista [Windows 95 - v4.3 only]

Version 6.0 Hungry Frog Software requires that the Microsoft .NET framework be installed on your computer.

If you bought your computer in 2002 or later, you probably have Microsoft .NET. If your computer is very old (running Windows 95 or older Windows) and not updated, then you will be able to run Hungry Frog Software v4.3 which runs on even the oldest Windows 95 computers (640x480 screen is the minimum requirement).

Checking if you have Microsoft .NET Framework installed.

Go to your Control Panels folder and select Add/Remove programs to view installed software:
Add Remove Control Panel

You will not actually add or remove any software, you just want to see what is installed. Double click on the 'Add or Remove Programs' icon.

Scroll down the resulting list of installed software until you get to the listing of Microsoft items (sort the list alphabetically and scroll down to Microsoft) and look for the 'Microsoft .NET Framework' items as show in the next screen capture.

The Microsoft .NET Framework is installed on this computer:

If you can't find Microsoft .NET Framework, then visit http://microsoft.com/downloads/ and follow the links to download the '.NET Framework' version which is the most current. At this time that is 'NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)' from Microsoft. Install the .NET framework, and you are done.

Once Microsoft. .NET is installed on your computer, then you are ready to run the Hungry Frog Software for Windows v6.0 programs.

Remember you can always run v4.3 on older Windows 95 computers.

Technical Details and Microsoft .NET History

Windows used to have plenty of problems with software running on one version of Windows and not another, or on one computer and not another which were supposed to be the same. Fortunately, this is no longer the case, and Hungry Frog software takes full advantage of that fact. If you want to learn about Microsoft's operating systems over the years, the wikipedia site has lots of good information. You can visit this URL to find out specifically about Microsoft .NET framework: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.NET_Framework. When we developed the new Hungry Frog software we wanted it to above all else stable and bug free, and using the features of Microsoft .NET allowed us to achieve this goal. The newest Hungry Frog software uses Microsoft .NET 2.0 framework, which is an updated version of the original Microsoft .NET version first released broadly in 2002. Microsoft .NET framework is part of Microsoft's operating system, and unless you have a very old computer, you probably have .NET framework installed if you have been keeping your computer operating system updated using Microsoft Windows Update to make sure your .NET (and other Windows Operating System Components) is up to date. You should always keep your computer up to date with Microsoft Update as Microsoft provides very important security fixes to their software all the time and you want to be current. Run Windows Update to make sure your computer operating system is up to date.

If you do not have Microsoft .NET framework installed on your computer, visit http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/ and download the .NET framework directly from Microsoft's site.

The direct link to the exact download from Microsoft is here. You can also cut and paste this URL in your browser for the direct link:

If you think your computer is a true antique and will have problems because of its age, remember that no matter what the reason, if you are not happy with the software you purchase, we won't ask you to pay for it.
